On Environment

we got no home other than this one planet

The only home we have known

We HAVE to protect it.

The world is rapidly Changing

My experience of driving an Oregon made solar vehicle across the country and in the Middle East, brought me a first-hand experience of what technology and bright young minds can do to protect and sustain this planet.

The world is rapidly changing. Human activity is causing unprecedented disruption to the planet ecosystems.

I have volunteered with local sustainability and environmental initiatives. I have worked on power generation and water desalination projects. Each and every experience taught me the importance of working toward saving our environment and building a better future not just for ourselves, but for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.

We can do better as a County government and as individuals.

My stance on climate change

Climate change due to human activity is happening. We're already living, experiencing, and breathing its impact. This is not a belief I have, it's based on data. We need to help the public to understand that regardless of their political or ideological affiliations. It's an important truth that is critical to acknowledge for the survival of all the occupants of this planet.

I will work with the Oregon Climate Change research institute at OSU to understand the impact of climate change on Benton County. I will work with the health department in understanding the health impact and how to help our institutions and public be resilient.

I would encourage the planning and assessment of possible changes to floodplains and risks of forest fires.

I will focus on climate resilience and strategic use of resources. Also, I'll be in support of moving forward with the existing Climate Action Plan. Which prioritizes County government commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 75 percent below 1990 levels by the year 2050 with milestones targets are set for 2025, 2030 and 2040.

I welcome more ideas and discussions on saving our environment. It’s on all of us to work together to protect this planet.
