Campaign Finance Reform

Campaign finance reform is the root of all problems in our politics. Policies and candidates should be elected based on merit. Elections should not be determined by who can tap into an unlimited pool of money. Candidates and initiative campaigns should be limited to what they can fundraise. In Oregon, we have virtually no limits on how much politicians should fundraise. In a functioning democracy, corporations should not have a stronger voice than individuals. Candidates should focus more on talking to their constituents and learning about the problems they want to solve than fundraising.

We should have a conversation around campaign finance and work together toward campaign rules that are equitable and give equal power and voice to the people.
